Archers Road, Wairau Valley

This reroofing project at Archers Road, Wairau Valley, marks Metalhartt’s largest commercial site to date.

Working for Crown Group, Metalhartt acted as the main contractor across the project, managing the wider roofing scope as well as the coordination of multiple trades and suppliers. The works included building works by in-house builders, waterproofing by Sub Zero Waterproofing, access and scaffolding by Safe Edge Scaffolding, machine hire through Total Access and Ashton Cranes, and air-conditioning disconnect and reconnect works by Climate Control.

The scale of the reroof required detailed planning around access, lifting, delivery sequencing, and site safety. With 20-metre sheets involved, pack weights and placements had to be adjusted to suit crane lifting capacities, while suppliers and pilot vehicles were coordinated around crane operations and site timing.

Variable weather also played a role throughout the programme, adding another layer of planning to an already complex commercial reroof. The Metalhartt team worked alongside subcontractors including Henderson Demo and Dunn Contracting to keep the project moving while managing the practical requirements of a live commercial site.

The project used Fleece Coat by PPC, a new product to market, with flashings supplied by Roll and Fold.
